MAC F2 (AAAA)
- Grade: AAA+
- Bud Size: Average
- Flavours: Cake, Herbal, Pine
- Effects: Creative, Euphoric, Uplifting
- 50% Indica: 50% Sativa
Our Thoughts:
If you enjoyed our recent MAC 1 offering, you’ll likely enjoy this version. The terp profile and effects are very similar, though the nugs have a nicer bag appeal. MAC F2’s effects are euphoric and upbeat, with the onset coming in immediately after the first few tokes. Strong herbal notes of diesel and earthiness are prevalent in this batch, along with hints of melon. The purple hues on this bud is much more enhanced than its MAC 1 counterpart. This batch deserves an even higher bag appeal score after we noticed how sticky the buds were. Our nylon gloves had to practically be discarded due to the gooey resin the MAC F2 nugs left on the fingers.

Effects and Usage
The high for the grape ape strain mounts rather slowly in comparison to some other marijuana strains, but will eventually lead to both a mental and body high.
You’ll feel a weighty sensation in both your limbs and your head as this strain eases you into a spacey calmness. It’s a great full body stone that will help you relax after a long time.
This weed strain is great for treating pain, stress and anxiety. It’s also great as a sleep aid used for treating insomnia, as you’ll feel sleepy after smoking a joint of this bud. Many smokers also use this strain to ease temporary aches and some more chronic conditions like fibromyalgia.
This strain is very uplifting, so some users have also used this weed to treat depression.
Some users do experience some side effects from smoking this cannabis strain. Common side effects include dry mouth, which affects about 1 in every 4 smoker, dry eyes and dizziness. Most people, however, won’t experience any side effects at all.
Lineage
Propagated by Apothecary Genetics and Barney’s Farm, Grape Ape is a cross between Mendocino Purps, Skunk and Afghani. This strain also has two children: Alaska Thunder Grape and The Grunk.
Mendocino Purps is an award-winning Northern California crossbreed. Much like grape ape, mendocino purps is another one of the more popular purple strains that you’ll find at a seed bank. Skunk is another popular strain that is a classic, as well as Afghani.
The taste and flavour of all of these weed profiles combine and mesh together in Grape Ape.
Growing
It’s a difficult weed strain for novices to cultivate, which is why we highly recommend that you buy grape ape online. This is definitely one of those weed strains that you want to keep an eye out for if you buy weed online from an online dispensary because it’s not always around.
Grape ape typically has dense, compact buds and takes about 7 to 8 weeks to flower. It produces a solid yield of medium to large flowers, and experienced medical marijuana growers can usually expect to get about 2.5 ounces of bud per square foot.
With that said, grape ape rarely exceeds 4 feet in height. The plant is bushy with strong lateral branches that come out from the central stem. It has a very prominent indica shape to it.
This bud is actually much easier to grow outdoors than indoors, as it is resistant to both disease and destructive bugs. It is, however, difficult to control the quality of the weed when it is grown outdoors. Indoor grows are typically much higher in quality.
If you’re keen on growing the grape ape strain, consider topping the plant regularly and trimming the wide fan leaves at the top, so that it’s easier for sunlight to reach the lower branches.
Similar Alternatives
If the strain grape ape is sold out and you’re looking for something similar, you can consider the following alternatives:
- Muerte, which offers a similar effect to grape ape although it is a lot less fruity
- Pink Kush, which also offers a similar effect to grape ape although it has more of an earthy, skunky taste to it (with notes of vanilla!)
- Alaska Thunder Grape, which is a child of Grape Ape. This strain is, however, notoriously difficult to find when you buy weed online. In fact, it’s difficult to find this weed strain in both local dispensaries and online dispensaries.
If grape ape is sold out and you’re looking for similar alternatives, reach out to our customer service team, and they can help you find what you’re looking for or suggest alternatives that might work for your medical condition and needs.
Our customer service team can also source small batches of specific weed strains from medical marijuana growers in BC. If you let us know what you’re looking for, they might be able to help you find just what you need.
